Strong understanding of multifamily interior design process from programming through construction administration and FF&E. Strong presentation skills, including oral and written communication skills. Working knowledge of interior design and architectural design documentation standards and best practices. Willingness to learn new software as required. Understanding of FF&E bidding processes.
• Project design reviews, charettes, and pin-ups.
• Preparation of designs based upon general direction or concepts developed with senior staff.
• Ability to produce design presentations for client review at various stages of the project
• Prepares interior design construction documents
• Takes field measurements of existing conditions
• Construction phase services, including field observation, submittal review, and answering RFIs.
• Research, select, and produce FF&E presentations for client review
• Produce book format furniture specifications, including custom fabrication
• Production of FF&E estimates.
• Project management tasks, including compiling data and organizing files.
• Communication with consultants and clients.
• Travel as required for meetings and FF&E installs.
Required Experience:
• 3-5 years of experience in relevant design firm environment
• NCIDQ certificate preferred, but not required.
Required Education/Training:
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or equivalent education.
Required Skills and Abilities:
• Strong knowledge of 3D BIM software (ArchiCAD or Revit), SketchUp, Enscape, the Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office
• Building codes and guidelines as applicable (ADA, FGI, etc.)
• Programming
• Contract documents
• Field observations and measurements
• Life safety requirements
• Furniture and interior product specifications
• Furniture bid packages
• Construction contract administration
• FF&E Cost estimates and calculations
Working Conditions:
● Overnight travel as required for project execution
● Possible on-site office for projects as needed
● Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
● Car rental as required during travel
